Book Wall

Finally sharing a blog about my little book wall! I got this idea from Erin @cottonstems . I love to read and I typically read in my front room so I knew I wanted to do this somewhere near there. It was super easy to do and was done within twenty-four hours. Step 1: Find a picture that you want to put as the center. I found this one at hobby lobby and thought it was perfect. I was going to have one made that said A told B and B told C (from chicka chicka boom boom), but decided if I ever do a kid book wall I'll use that then. ;) Step 2: Find books. You can go on Facebook market place, check out thrift stores, or use old ones of your own. I decided to use ones I had.  Step 3: Rip out pages and then lay out the books and pages before putting on the wall. I decided to use only Nicholas Sparks books because he is probably my favorite author. I have enjoyed so many of his books. My favorite being the Notebook. I took out the most famous parts of the Notebook for the loose pages. I also

5 Areas You Can Clean to Feel Organized

Do you ever just not know where to start? I hear this all the time from my friends and family when they are referencing me being organized and clean. Here's the thing, it isn't always super easy. Sometimes areas pile up and I want to lose it LOL, but when I organize/clean these 5 areas I feel so much better. I always say 'a clean room is a happy room'. :) 1.   The Pantry This place is 100% storing expired food, for sure (unless you clean it out every week haha). I take ALL the food out, check it all, and then organize what can go back in. It feels nice to open it up and not see chip bags piled up or 10 boxes of pasta. If you notice when you take out all the food that it could use some cleaning, do a quick clean. This is a perfect time since it is bare. 2. The Fridge Just like the pantry (definitely has expired condiments). Cleaning/organizing it will motivate you to eat at home, eat healthy, whatever you're going for. When my fridge is a disaster I

Board and Batten Wall

Okay so my number 1 quarantine project was this board and batten wall. I kept seeing them on Pinterest and wanted one too. The green ones had caught my eye the most. I debated on green or gray, but my room is whites/woods/gray/tan with some plants here and there so I went with green. Picking Out a Paint Color: I originally was going to go with a dark green from sherwin williams (I cannot for the life of me remember which one and cannot find the inspo picture, but if I do I will post). However I narrowed it down to the four listed above and was really thinking I wanted Hunt Club. Erin at @cottonstem gave me the idea to buy the samples and actually paint to see which one I liked. With some help from the Sherwin Williams peeps, I picked Isle of Palms (left) and Basil (right). AS you can see Isle of Palms ended up looking like Hunt Club, so I'm glad the workers talked me out of Hunt Club because it probably was super dark. I decided to go with Isle of Pal

May 3 Tiered Tray and Cart

If you're new here...I LOVE home decor. I found this tray at hobby lobby around Christmas time. I decorate it every month or season depending. For example, I did Christmas (December), Winter (January), Valentine's Day (Feb- and also target has so many cute and cheap things to stick in the tray so it was easy), and then I skipped straight to carrots for March/April (and May...LOL). Hey, were in quarantine so I enjoyed that carrot decor as long as I could ( click here to see it ). So anyways...when Hobby Lobby finally opened again I couldn't wait to do my tray and cart. However, I couldn't find anything I LOVED. I saw the ice cream cone plant picture (below) and wanted to work off of that. It ended up turning into a 'strawberry ice cream' theme. I'm not in love with it, but it's growing on me ;). I really wanted to do something with plants, but also spring/summer so I guess it works! Now for what I put in the tray: little square/circle magne
